I will try this. thank you for a useful response.
Do you happen to know how I would use the DS708 to input new TPMS sensor ID's to a 2008 Subaru Legacy? I have the TS401, and although it can read, "activate", and program sensors - it cannot tell the car what their ID's are - so the car TPMS light stays on because it doesn't auto-recognize the new sensors. As far as I can tell, you have to tell the car what the new sensor ID's are so it can "learn" them and cause the TPMS light to go out. (When I hook up the DS708 and go down to the TPMS entry - it attempts to find a communication unit, fails, and displays a notice with instructions to check wires, the battery etc. - none of which are the problem, but it doesn't give a menu to input sensor ID's into the car's computer memory - sensor ID's I got from the TS401).
